[mythtv] is enabling https protocol on the svn.mythtv.org server possible?

While I agree that HTTPS would be best,
doesn't this proxy let you access HTTP?

e.g.

% cat ~/.subversion/servers
...
http-proxy-host = http_gw.fwall.telstra.com.au
http-proxy-port = 80
http-proxy-username = nigel
http-proxy-password = nigel's-password
