My replacement is in mythvideo/videoutils.h. Stuart Morgan had mentioned 
   that he may put some replacement in MythUI eventually.

Yes, my version can throw exceptions, that bit can be removed and, if 
similar, would allow dark corners to continue to use exceptions.
