After thinking about this for a week,
I still cannot think of a good reason for this,
so TrollTech has a bug report.

(I doubt they will fix it, though.
  Someone made that the convention,
  even though it breaks
  cross-platform compatibility)


MythTV -r 17142 has a workaround hacked in.
