It happens to me, too, but I never dared to report it as I use CAM with
the DVB-S and in such cases the CAM is suspected first. It simply
creates 0 bytes recording from time to time, most often those that I
want to see most (but that's Murphy's law). I *think* it happens when
the load is higher but that's just my guess. I don't have any useful log
as this happens only sometimes (twice a week?) and I don't run with
logging enabled all the time.
