Given a choice I would prefer the OSD to stay the same size no matter
whether the video is 4:3 or 16:9... In an *ideal* situation the OSD
would always use the complete size of the display device, instead of
only the inner portion of the video window

I am guessing that this is not possible because of the way the video is
displayed and that there must be a technical reason why the OSD has to
be over the top of the video instead of filling the complete display
device? Perhaps future display modes such as opengl will life that
limitation and we can use the complete display area for the OSD?

Cheers
