This is interesting/worrying - can you give me more details on your
system/drivers etc? any chance of a screen shot?

Are you sure this isn't tearing? I've noticed that if the GPU is
struggling to keep up, vertical sync is the first thing to go. And is
this SD interlaced material displayed at 1080i? - in which case I'd
expect to see artefacts - it may be a side effect of the better
scaling you're seeing.

It's possible now - you just need a more powerful card! My 7600GS
copes with 1080i if there are no deinterlacers involved.

I don't honestly expect the performace improvements to be large. I
might however look at software converting the osd - though it's a
pretty inefficient way of getting a high res osd.
