[mythtv] Trying to pinpoint the source of judder... help requested

The only thing I can think of off hand is that it could be the same
problem I am getting with regard to my EPIA not using XvMC VLD accell'ed
playback when it should be.
The problem arises from the preview video in the watch recordings
screen, which somehow seems to prevent accell'ed playback due to some
sort of race condition.
Although different h/w you could be getting tripped up by the same issue.
Try turning off preview videos in settings and see if the problem goes away.
You can also try the myth-vid branch (something I need to do also but
not had time to do so far).
Daniel is helping me debug but I need to try the above branch first so
the ball is in my court.
