[mythtv] Ticket #4270: MythTV on Windows (with MinGW)

Andrei,
(cc'd to others FYI)
I'm the one who made that suggestion in the wiki regarding supplying
pre-built dll's for the libraries that aren't part of the myth distribution,
but I don't know of a best-method for making them available(others more
central to the project care to comment?):
My Suggestions:

* make them available through sourceforge - perhaps
the mythtv, mythtvplayer, winmyth, or gnuwin32 project, or similar (depends
how isaac or the other projects would feel about it)?
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mythtv/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mythtvplayer/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/winmyth/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mythtv-tools/

* upload them to the mythtv wiki?
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Special:Upload

* post them as attachments to a trac?

* upload them directly to the mythtv website for users/developers to
download from (perhaps only once a Win32 "release" is ready?)

Buzz.

FYI - to answer your questions in your other email regarding who has
"successfully built" on Win32:

WIth my Win32 attempts, I've gotten to the point where all dependancies are
built except QT(which I *think* I have working now), and SDL (as I noted in
the wiki page).

I've not actually gotten past that point, but will be trying again over the
weekend now that all the mythtv patches are in SVN ( there didn't seem much
point to me trying it get it working untill this occured).

I'll update the wiki page (
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Windows_Port ) with more notes once
this is done.

Buzz.

This is a comment from the Wiki page:

> Hopefully we'll be able to make all these library dependencies quicker,
and just supply pre-built versions to download, for those libraries that are
stable?

I think it's a sensible idea, is there a place where we can host the files?
We are probably only talking about a few megabytes (less than 10 I think).
