Firstly nice theme :)

Does it still require the default menu (used to require MePo menu)? I prefer
the classic  menu theme, previous versions had missing watermarks when using
classic menu I think.

Is there a technical reason for the problems with the other menus or is it
just that "default" is your preferred menu layout?

What would be involved in adding other menu theme support? I guess that your
theme would need to support all the menu themes before becoming an
officially supported theme (myththemes), it would be great to see MePo and
Justin's themes make it into svn.
