This is marked as a closed patch: fixed, and has been applied in mythtv
0.20, but I still see what were, I understand, the original symptoms.
I have reported this earlier on the ATrpms user list.
When recording a program, mythbackend reports, about every two seconds,
DVBRec(0) Error: Could not open demux device.
eno: Too many open files (24)
The recordings produced are excellent, as is the EIT program guide.
I'm running FC5, fully updated via the ATrpms repo, and using the
Freecom DVB-T USB pen receiver in the UK.
Here are two sections from the system log:
------------
29 08:32:44 localhost kernel: dvb-usb: found a 'WideView WT-220U PenType
Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom)' in cold state, will try to load a firmware
Sep 29 08:32:44 localhost kernel: dvb-usb: downloading firmware from
file 'dvb-usb-wt220u-fc03.fw'
Sep 29 08:32:44 localhost kernel: usbcore: registered new driver
dvb_usb_dtt200u
--------------
Sep 29 08:32:44 localhost kernel: dvb-usb: found a 'WideView WT-220U
PenType Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom)' in warm state.
Sep 29 08:32:44 localhost kernel: dvb-usb: will use the device's
hardware PID filter (table count: 15).
Sep 29 08:32:44 localhost kernel: DVB: registering new adapter (WideView
WT-220U PenType Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom)).
Sep 29 08:32:44 localhost kernel: DVB: registering frontend 0 (WideView
USB DVB-T)...
Sep 29 08:32:44 localhost kernel: input: IR-receiver inside an USB DVB
receiver as /class/input/input2
Sep 29 08:32:45 localhost kernel: dvb-usb: schedule remote query
interval to 300 msecs.
Sep 29 08:32:45 localhost kernel: dvb-usb: WideView WT-220U PenType
Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom) successfully initialized and connected.
--------------
It would be nice to have this fixed, although I'm not sure that it is
causing any real problems.
It could be worth mentioning (?) that I also use a USB modem:
[ueagle-atm] ADSL device founded vid (0X1110) pid (0X9032) : Eagle III
Thanks in advance,
John Pilkington
