It's called "video scan", I believe.
I'm not advocating a "fixed" per channel setting, though. I'm merely
suggesting the default video scan be settable per channel instead of always
"detect" (you could still override it with that menu option). Also, the
default value for this new default would still be "detect" so if you did
nothing you still got the current behavior.
