There are times when I would like the functionality you describe here.
 I have even thought about doing what you describe here.  I just have
not desired it enough to actually go through the work ;-)

While the SQL for this would probably not be too bad, my SQL is very
basic.  As long as I don't have to do JOINs and such, I am okay.  I
probably should buy an O'Reilly book.

I will think about this some more, but like you said, it may not be
something which would be accepted anyway.
