[mythtv] New fade effect in front end not working well

Hi all,

I upgraded to latest SVN to get the fixes for database timeouts and
external tuner command. When I did, I notice I also got a possible cool
new feature were text fades in and out.

Unforuntely, its not working very well for me. When the frontend first
displays, I get my normal Titivillus theme with text. But then the
background is cleared to all white and I only see the text (Watch TV,
etc). I can still basically function but when I change screens the fade
effect takes around 5 seconds to complete which is a little longish.

I am using Via XvMC for output and I'm using Fedora Core 5 Test 3 so
I've got pretty much the latest drivers in that area. OpenGL is totally
out of my area so not much I can debug without pointers from the pros.
Well, I'm assuming its an OpenGL issue because of the next item.

I noticed that ticket #1451 mentions the fade being slow but doesn't
talk about the white part. I was going to disable the
"UseOpenGLPainter" option that it mentions but I didn't find it in my
settings database. Should it have been auto-inserted there?

Thanks,
Chris
