[mythtv] How to configure MythTv for Leadtek PVR 2000 (h/w encoder)

Hi,

I'm cross posting from MythTv-users cause I figure this might actually be more 
of a dev question, really.

I've got a Leadtek PVR 2000 and (think) I have the hardware encoder working - 
at least I get video when I point mplayer at /dev/v4l/video1, as opposed to 
video0.  I would prefer to use the hardware encoded stream in MythTv for the 
obvious reasons, but and failing to get the configuration correct.  Is it 
possibly because the hardware stream is not support for non-ivtv cards?  If 
there coding work required I'm willing to give it a shot if pointed in the 
correct direction...

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
