I'm having problems with the mediamonitor too.
I've been experimenting a bit with my "hama 19 in 1" reader and a usb memory
stick.

When mediamonitor detects the media and mounts it, mythgalery starts and it
ends up in some wierd state where you can't press esc to go back to the
menu.

The first time the galery view that comes up it behaves strange, first it
displays the contents of the usb stick.

If i now press esc i get 6 folders, the first one is named "Gallery" and the
rest is device names like /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb and so on.

If i try to use the device /dev/sdd (points to a slot in the card reader
with nothing in it) it displays the root of the / filesystem instead and esc
does not do anything so i'm stuck.
If i now restart the frontend and try to use the "Gallery" folder i get to
the root of the usb stick.
Is this expected behaviour? Shoudn't i be able to get to the gallery i have
configured? And how do i exit mythgalery?
Isn't there any better way to name the devices than the /dev/ names?

The only changes i've made to the source is the attached patch, it allows
the mediamonitor to use gnome-mount to mount the devices.
The reason for this is that in fc5 fstab-sync was replaced with gnome-mount
to mount devices like removable media.
