How do I configure my Jack devices to make mono output appear as
stereo? This is something which is slightly irritating at present and I
was just working up to coding around - it's therefore distressing to see
hot headed opinions that the whole world is a configuration problem
waiting to be solved
Unless someone can give a better example I disagree that your mappings
above are useful. Mono is a special case in my opinion and it should
usually be upgraded to stereo (and only to stereo). I am not saying
this is a definitive because I don't know all other needs, but none
immediately jump to mind...
There is already some partial code to do this for the TV I believe?
Someone added some code for the situation that you had mandarin in one
channel and something else in the other channel and you could mute one
but upgrade the result to stereo again.
