[mythtv] debugging a crash in mythmusic

i now have it crashing under gdb
but... i don't get any symbols in the backtrace
i think i've followed the instructions in the HOWTO properly

anyone got any suggestions as to how i can get a proper backtrace
gentoo, svn ebuild, athlon 1GHz
