You've got to be kidding. Trac is for tracking code changes and is
not a chat room, mail list, news group, bulletin board or any other
type of threaded discussion to ask question or talk about opinions
or feelings. It's disheartening and a bit embarrassing to see someone
involved with the project set such a bad example.

To all (including developers I guess) please be sure that you have
read and and understood http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/wiki/TicketHowTo
before submitting a patch, backtrace or logfiles, or steps to describe
how someone else can see a code defect.

Questions, comments, discussion, suggestions, 'me too', 'why was this
ticket closed', 'I got ticket #1000', etc. can be posted to the mailing
list and not inserted into the bug tracking database.

Also, there seem to be a pattern that there is a belief that if someone
opens a ticket, then they are entitled to service. This is not a
helpdesk system. If the ticket is not a patch, backtrace or reproducible
test case, it's most likely invalid as something that will result in
a code change. If someone has some touchy feely crap to say about
how disappointed they are that they won't get serviced, please post
it to the mailing lists (or better yet, /dev/null) and don't reopen
a ticket with your self pity.

Thank you,
