How about making it possible to disable signal monitoring stage altogether?
I'm on DVB-C and AFAIK the signal quality is quite stable here, it worked great
before the signal monitoring stuff.

Again, I'd be grateful if you point me to right code to disable if you
don't have time or motivation to implement such feature yourself.
