Forgive me: "you don't listen to stereo through"...
The Perfect Sound is the monthly magazine for people who spent $100k on
their stereo system. No, that number is not a misprint.
And they'll be happy to explain to you that a sound system optimized
for watching movies in 5.1 is pretty far from optimal for listening to
stereo music. Their arguments were, as I recall, fairly compelling.
