Alas, so many cool features show up in SVN that the percentage of
people using it it probably higher than it should be.  Release early
and often might solve that, but I don't want you to even begin thinking
I'm telling you how to run your release strategy.  :-)

I *would* like to help, though, on the front of "gathering all the
necessary information".  I'm starting a page on the wiki, at 

	http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Technical_support_sheet

to assemble a shell script which might at some point be included with
the distribution, to gather that information, so that people who are
inclined to help don't have to ask 42 questions before they can get
started.

Anyone who has useful bits to contribute (or knows of a script that
already does this which I've missed) is invited to chime in.
