The main problem is that at the UI level we know what scan we are
doing, but down in the scanner itself we no longer know what type
of scan we are doing.

The changes for the other scanning modes suggested (esp DVB-C) 
I expect will require additional modes to be added.

I'll start work on this again once 0.20 is out.
