The major leak I am seeing occurs without any skipping going on. It's
just plain viewing a recording which sees the memory usage steadily
climbing. Quiting the recording doesn't reclaim the memory, but
restarting the frontend does.
I guess I need to try and get valgrind going, but the output is rarely
that easy to interpret...
