Using SVN, now.  http://cvs.mythtv.org/ for instructions on how to check 
out a local copy using SVN (yeah, even though the hostname is

Basically, you use svn checkout (svn co) and from then on you use svn 
update (svn up).  If you are contributing, you'll use svn diff to create 
a patch.
