It was just a guess, it just stuck out like a sore thumb, the problem 
occurring in one of a half-dozen commits and yours directly affecting 
scheduling. No offense meant.

You obviously know far more than me, so might I ask a question? Should it be 
in overrecord if another scheduled programme follows immediately? My 
understanding of the 'soft' pre/over-record feature was that it wouldn't 
enter overrecord mode in that circumstance? Or is it less intelligent than 
that, i.e. entering overrecord mode first before being stopped by the 
following recording starting?
