This one kept coming up with mythweb quite a lot in the past.  I think 
one of the particular issues (in mythweb) was trying to recode the 
recording priority stuff in the web bit (probably I mis-remember, but 
the point is the same).

Surely with the exception of the SQL one the other bits certainly look 
sane and could be argued to be abstracting some functionality into one 
place?  Or did I just miss the point?
