For what it's worth, Amarok wrote an ID3v2.4 tag to an MP3 I just 
edited, so I think this (not to mention the authors own comments!) 
concludes that TagLib would not help in terms of ID3v2.3 tags, although 
I think the other discussions relating to supporting v2.3 makes this a 
moot point anyway. Just thought I'd report back.
