Really?  I had the default set when I tested it, but it seemed to
ignore it, and just had 'blank' for the category.  So I took that line
out, since it did not seem to do anything.

Ah, I bet for some reason I have a 'blank' category in my program
table, and that ends up being first in my sorted list.  GlobalComboBox
ignores the setValue call and just defaults to the first item, doesn't
it?

Okay, is the attached version better?
