What about including the revision number of the change in the body of
the email?  That would at least make it a bit easier when I peruse a
week's worth of changes to figure out what I should be looking for
when trying to track down an issue.  In particular, it would save the
time of grepping through the cvs log to figure out what revision has
the particular log message in the email.
