Thanks for the info about the deinterlacing and resizing.

As far as CPU utilization I have been using top. Being that my system is
hyperthreaded I'm pretty sure that top thinks that it has two real CPU's
instead of a single hyperthreaded one. This is why it never reports a CPU
utilization greater than 50%. I have been doubling the "us" value. So in
this example:

top - 08:44:47 up 30 days, 23:52, 1 user, load average: 0.03, 0.02, 0.00
Tasks: 63 total, 1 running, 62 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie
Cpu(s): 3.2% us, 1.9% sy, 0.0% ni, 94.9% id, 0.0% wa, 0.0% hi, 0.0% si
Mem: 77644k total, 76884k used, 760k free, 31504k buffers
Swap: 524152k total, 38196k used, 485956k free, 15084k cached

I would say that I was really using 6.4% of my CPU. Is this the wrong
approach to determining the true CPU utilization?
