Simon,
    Could you send the beginning of the log (from start up) ? I can't
remember what it should say but, you should see something about which
channel it's attempting to tune to, along with if it managed to get the
"channel options" for that channel ?

If it doesn't then that is, (hopefully), the problem and you need to set
the channel number in the input section of setup. For example with dvb-t
BBC 1 is currently mapped to 4168 for me.
