I should add that the problem I see is that I can't change channels
(only worked with marks patch). I never get video I always get audio.
However if I exit before the frontend crashes I can reenter tv mode and
all works. 

However watching tv this ways is way annoying. If I disable the
Unichrome HW in setup then all works fine though CPU usage get to high
:-(
