[mythtv] iec61883 docs?

In trying to port the backend firewire support to MacOS X, I am
running up against this libiec61883 for which I can find no
documentation.  90% of the uses of iec61883.h that Google turns up are
in MythTV itself!  It's pretty tough trying to pick which of 3-4
different levels of FireWire support in the Mac API to use, but
without being able to really grok what the existing code is doing,
it's almost impossible.  Can anyone help me out?
