Thanks for the very helpful responses.  My wife has threatened my anatomy it I
touch our production system again.  So I'm building two new ones.  I'm going
to use the Fedora Core 4 for the GCC 4.0 box.  But what distributions would
depend on 2.95.3?  I'll build one of those specifically instead of just
installing 2.x on fedora or gentoo.

Once again thank you for a wonderful application and hopefully I can
contribute soon.
