	I am slowly working on an MythAV plugin.

	The final intent is to have a set of video test patterns,
a set of audio test sequences, and a "Display Video Input" function
to do just what you ask.
(oh, and for it to be a well documented example plugin
  that uses the MythTV videoout and audioout classes,
  and supports a touch screen :-).

	But, at the moment, it is a non-function skeletal vapourware :-(
