Why is this changing TranslateKeyPress/etc?  Why are there lots of C functions 
being exposed in the various new files?  Why's there ugly code like:

    absolutes[ABS_X] = "X";                    absolutes[ABS_Y] = "Y";

I dunno about this, anyway.  It's > 2000 lines and doesn't really do anything 
that can't be done in a simpler manner.
