I know, that's why I found it particularly odd. Even odder still, while 
experimenting last night, I couldn't ever get back to the point where I had 
smooth playback on that channel... And I swear that the verbose output is 
claiming that it did detect a progressive-scan channel and no deint filters 
were initialized (and it still tanks if ABC is the first channel played). But 
then I've been trying quite a few different playback resolution and 
deint/nodeint combos... I'll keep playing.
