[mythtv] high CPU on 0.16. is viaslice working??

i've just upgraded to version 0.16 and seem to be getting high CPU compared 
with 0.15-1. Load average for live TV is about 1.30 compared to 0.15-1 where 
is was about 0.40. I'm wondering if viaslice/CLE266 is working?? i can't see 
any mention in the logs that it is using my cle266.. 

setup:
M6000 board
Gentoo 2.4.24-epia kernel
xfree-epia 4.3.99.902-r4
Ivor Hewits libddmpeg v1.6 

i've double checked the cle266 option is seleted in the setup (and 
settings.pro options are unchecked). 

is the cle266 working in v 0.16? any way i can check?
