[mythtv] 4:3 content on 16:9 HDTV & Black bars - revisited

My TV only has those modes available when I send an NTSC signal to it
(composite or svideo). I use DVI. Any mode I send to my TV will use the
entire screen. So, if I use a 4:3 modeline the picture will linear stretch
across the screen - very ugly. I could get around the issue by hooking up
through svideo but that sorta goes against my reason for buying an HDTV in
the first place.

If your TV has the mode built in, why not simply send 4:3 content and let
your TV stretch it?
