I think this could probably be done with simply a configuration change.  Since
mplayer does support live streams, in theory you should be able to configure
dss broadcast to go after your video feed, and reconfigure your mplayer
settings to pickup the rtp/rtsp feed.

I have already setup with Darwin Streaming Server for streaming existing
movies.  The only real downside is that it will only take mp4.  Eventhough I
have not yet done the live feed, I can probably provide assistance to you if
you have any issues.  It really is not a big deal.
