It a nutshell, the AVFormatDecoder scans for audio tracks within the
stream when the file is opened. It keeps a list of them and attempts to
select the most applicable one to use based on the number of channels.
Support is there for switching which stream actually gets output. Which
is why I asked the ivtv folks about getting the SAP channel encoded as
another audio track, since then it'd be easy to play it back.
