[mythtv] Video playback problems

Ugh a VIA KT400 based board. I really dislike VIA, I stopped using them
some time ago. Every VIA based board I've ever used has had PCI
problems. VIA has a number of known problems with their PCI
implementation, search google for VIA and Sound Blaster Live and you'll
see what I'm talking about. What kernel version are you running ?

If you can dump that sucker ASAP on Ebay and buy yourself an nice NForce
2 based board and just move all the components over. ECS makes a good
inexpensive one (N2U400-A) which can be purchased for less than $50 in
the US. Look for the separate 12V CPU connector. Quality AMD boards
have separate 12V CPU rails. NVIDIA boards are smooth as butter with a
post 2.4.27 kernel. Kernels before that will lock up under heavy I/O.
