SAP is "Secondary Audio Program", where you can have a second language 
on a seperate audio carrier.  So, the primary audio would be English, 
secondary in the US is traditionally Spanish.  I can see where it'd be 
useful in live TV mode, and there's an ivtv control that lets you choose 
SAP, but I don't think MythTV does anything like that right now. 

So, on second thought SAP probably isn't a volume control thing as much 
as it is something else.  What that something else is, I'm not sure yet. :)
