Looks like that was indeed the problem on my system as well. 1.0.6 is a
big pile of steaming... I dropped back to 1.0.5, rebuilt Myth against
that alsa-lib-devel for good measure, adjusted a setting or two, and
now 720p stations play back just peachy. Not sure if simply replacing
the libs would have been enough, or if the rebuild against the good
libs was required. I'm just happy the damned thing works right now. :-)
Never would have guessed this was the problem, didn't think ALSA really
had that much to do when passing raw AC3 (plus, mplayer was passing raw
AC3 on these recordings just fine), only thought of it because of my
amp tweaking (and recollection of others having issues w/1.0.6). How
someone fubars a 0.0.1 incremental release this badly, I dunno...
