Well I was talking to ian ( originally started this frontend project
sort of thing for windows), and he is hinting at getting qt-win32 (not
X11) to work first, and then this will really pick up. Also, the
person who re-did the vsync code for myth 0.16, was telling me that i
will need to redo some vsync to fix up the audio.
I'm thinking this will require a trip to the library or fumbling
through some of the DX sdk to get me up to speed on this sort of
thing. Once I actually get a build of QT/Win32 working I'll head back
to the other end of things. If you or anyone else gets a build of
QT/Win32 that builds all the way up with SQL support and doesnt crash
in designer.exe, we will be in business. I know ian was able to do it
before, but there isn't much of a means to go back to some of the
older versions of utilites he used to build it before.
If you want to give that a shot,
http://kde-cygwin.sourceforge.net/qt3-win32/ , followed by some
experimentation replacing ld.exe with the patched versions at
kde-cygwin.sourceforge.net/snapshots/ . I tried to do a mingw build
as well, and actually got everything to build, but couldn't get the
mysql driver built with it (so basically pointless).
I might have to try with vc++ if this isn't going anywhere fast.
I posted to the kde-cygwin list about the ld problems still, and there
is no known fix yet, except limited luck with old versions of ld (not
for me yet though ).
