Alsa code has had a few bug fixes.  Nothing major though.

Can you debug it a little more and report back?  Perhaps try using an 
analogue output rather than spdif and see if this makes a difference?

There is also a resampler available in the new code.  You might want to 
see if that has kicked in for some reason?
