i downloaded (from cvs) and built it yesterday lunchtime (GMT)
from your question i get the suggestion that i should not see much of a 
difference. is that correct?

what i should have said is that the whole signal path is delayed
the audio and video and reasonably in sync

just that (because if the way i was testing them i could hear at the same time 
- tv for epia and speakers for pvr350) the epia output was a good half second 
behind the pvr350 - both sound *AND* video
