Absolutely. My preference is still to use hostname lookups, but that's not
my decision to make here -- I've not submitted the patch.

I would also add (1) non-techies are unlikely to be setting up separate
frontend/backend systems, and (2) a DNS server is not really necessary,
/etc/hosts works fine for small LANs.
