[mythtv] Mandrake 10 Official

Hi,
   I gave a try installing Myth on Mandrake 10.0, and finally had
to give up. Most things were working (had some issues with
mythfilldatabase that I never did finally track down... it never
seemed to work updating icons. Without the icon update switches
it worked fine, otherwise it would print a couple of lines then
immediately exit). The base problem was that I had a soundblaster
card, and it would never work along with btaudio. (just went back
and tried the on-board AC97 audio... it recognized it, but
btaudio still doesn't create a dsp device). By the time I
was done fiddling with options, even loading btaudio wouldn't
create a dsp device for it, so I finally gave up on that OS; I'm
going to go back to 9.2. In the meantime, I thought someone might
be interested in the notes I took about the documentation and
how it applied to what I was trying to do: clean install, with
compile. Sorry about leaving them as notes instead of specific
changes to the docs, but now I have to go re-install everything
again.

libqt notes for mandrake 9.1 apply to 10.0

had to install lame from scratch. make sure instructions on
where to get the source is correct

had to add some extra perl libs:

SOAP::Lite
Term::ReadKey

HTML::TableExtract
WWW::Mechanize (version 1.02 or higher)

before perl mkiconmap.pl
had to add export PERL5LIB=/usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl to ~/.bashrc

zap2it configured before mythtv is. need to fix this. should
also be after compile and install of mythtv; after database config?

for mysql: 10 is same as 9.0

Add btaudio and bttv to /etc/modprobe.preload (in that order)
   ----------this never did really work; per above didn't get sound
             working.

didn't see to turn off artsd... did I miss it? It's definitely
on in the default install.

different way of stopping artsd... kde->sound...
