[mythtv] XvMC overlay colour

hi guys,

i've just been hunting through videoout_xvmc.cpp and videoout_xv.cpp
files to work out why my XvMC output has an annoyingly blue background but Xv is black.

It would appear the Xv output just always sets it to black, however the
XvMC output reads the current xvinfo attributes XV_COLORKEY & XV_AUTOPAINT_COLORKEY,
and then draws the foreground in whatever colour is already set.

Does this make sense to do this? Should I force it to black as well?
Is there any reason to not always have a black background ?
Or is there some other nicer way to modify the xv attribute elsewhere beforehand that
I don't know about?

regards,
